TEACHER TRAINING
Clinicians have had the honor of working with both public and private schools to facilitate training and discussion around a trauma-informed approach in the school environment. Training is typically composed of lecture and experiential activities.
LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING
Training is tailored to the community's identified needs as well as the desire of each department. Previous training have included elements of trauma-informed care, assessing for risk factors, identifying the state of central nervous system arousal and implications during encounters, encountering children, assessing for suicidal and homicidal risk, and increasing community connection. In many jurisdictions, Academy has not provided a level of education that officers feel proficient in.
CONSULTATION
In addition to training, we are called on to provide assessment, evaluation, and review of difficult cases. Often, this process is time-consuming as we gather all medical records and review prior to evaluation and assessment. We will work with existing providers to collaborate and make recommendations specific to the individual.
BACHELOR'S + MASTER'S LEVEL INTERNSHIPS
We offer a dynamic internship program for students currently enrolled in accredited Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related fields. Our program is designed to bridge academic knowledge with practical application in a supportive, trauma-informed environment that values collaboration and wellness, providing supervision, training seminars, and case consultations with licensed professionals to support interns' professional growth. Interns will gain hands-on experience in a setting that utilizes a strengths-based, holistic approach.
